NASA’s Kennedy Space Center to throw an after-hours “techno party”

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is set to the be the location of an after-hours “techno party.”

Named "Kennedy Under the Stars", the event will see the US space agency's research centre transformed into an out-of-this-world rave.

The debut event on February 2 is said to be a “DJ-led techno party” according to its website with glow-in-the-dark elements along with a neon mini golf section.

The Kennedy Space Center opened in 1962 and is one of NASA's main launch sites working on both US government and commercial space trips including the Apollo 11 trip which saw Neil Armstrong become the first person to step foot on the Moon.

Among the guests at the event will be NASA astronauts Christopher Ferguson and Nicole Stott who have both managed over 30 days in space.

The space centre adds that its main attractions will remain open throughout the night with lower wait times.

These attractions include the Spaceport KSC ride as well as the real artefacts such as the space shuttle Atlantis and a SpaceX Falcon 9 booster.

Food and cocktails will also be available on the night with the centre urging ravers to come in space-themed fancy dress.

NASA's Kennedy Space Center is based on Merritt Island, Florida with the stellar event scheduled from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
